The cinder block building that housed neighborhood fare for decades has received new life to further the tradition of hand-made, thought-out food and beverage. The city of Hazel Park has the history, character and fervor to embrace Mabel Gray as the modern, adventurous restaurant that it is.

Expect personal service, handwritten menus, and a fresh, comfortable atmosphere. Chef Rigato is at the helm, and he and his staff will welcome you to their neighborhood. Mabel Gray is a statement of my culinary evolution.  It is my point of view on the renaissance of the Michigan food scene.  Approachable and energetic, reclaimed and refined, it is a commitment to complex contrasts.  I will be working at the stove every day, focused, in a true return to form as a craftsman.

Food and beverage selections rotate with the seasons and availability of local farm products, with no set menu. Everything is handmade from scratch, with fresh, ethical ingredients from Chef Rigato’s extensive network of farms, butchers and foragers. Expect daily updates and activity.
